Pligg Support

Question: Register on mobile device = black screen
Answer: provided by Yankidank 346 days ago
- 1 + I assume you are talking about the Solvemedia CAPTCHA embedded in the support area? We just enabled it a couple days ago. I too find it annoying, since I tend to always have to watch a 5 second video to get my phrase. Chuckroast finds it less annoying than ReCAPTCHA, which can be very difficult to read at times.

I switched to SolveMedia so that we would have better defenses against spammers. It's the strongest CAPTCHA option offered for Pligg at this time.

Perhaps it would be a good time to enhance the CAPTCHA module so that it only presents CAPTCHA challenges for users with fewer than X submissions, comments, or votes? Or at least a way to disable CAPTCHAs for moderator and admin level users.
Question: Draft Module Broken
Answer: provided by Yankidank 260 days ago
- 1 + The blame actually falls on the Bootstrap template used by Pligg CMS. The Save Drafts module is actually performing as it should, but the Bootstrap template is not loading the saved content into the main content field when you bring up a saved article. This Bootstrap issue is also related to a problem where if you fail to fill in a required field and go back to fill it in, the story description will appear empty. In both these cases, there is data saved in Pligg's database for that field, but it isn't getting inserted into the template. This is a bug that I hope to resolve in a future Pligg CMS update.

I've added a warning to the Save Drafts product page ( so that users will be aware of this bug.
Question: Sitemap Error 404
Answer: provided by Yankidank 350 days ago
- 1 + Again, I believe this issue is related to your site not being configured for URL Method 2, which is required in order for you to generate sitemaps using a .xml url. You need to rename your htaccess.default file to .htaccess and be on a server with mod_rewrite enabled.

Furthermore, if you are using the default Pligg sitemaps module the URL would be

Question: How can I solve the invalid chracter problem on my website?
Answer: provided by Yankidank 351 days ago
- 2 + This could be an error caused by your MySQL database not encoding the characters as UTF-8. I would need more information about what exactly you are experiencing to determine the issue. Are any characters appearing? Is it only not saving characters in a certain field (title, description, tags), or does the problem persist for all submission input fields?

Would including a screenshot of your issue help demonstrate the problem?
Question: Report posts or comments
Answer: provided by Yankidank 350 days ago
- 1 + This should actually be added in as a module, rather than a core feature.

- 2 + You can change the value from 'en' to whatever value you need from the Pligg Admin panel. There is a "Database Language" setting found under Admin > Settings > Miscellaneous page.
Question: Many photos
Answer: provided by Yankidank 356 days ago
- 0 + Warning: what I am about to suggest has not been tested. This may not work.

Assuming that you are using the Upload module to handle the images being added to a post, you would open your link_summary.tpl template file and insert {$image1} where you want the first image. If you want it to show up directly before the image description content is inserted, then place that before the "$story_content" tag. Then wherever you want to embed the other images, add them. In the latest version of Bootstrap, it would look like this: {$image1}{$story_content|nl2br}{$image2}{$image3}{$image4}{$image5}{$image6}{$image7}{$image8}{$image9}{$image10}

I believe that if an image does not exist (ex. you only uploaded 2 images), it will just return nothing for the extra image tags being used.
