Question: How to create Voted code in websites and blog ?
Answer: provided by Yankidank 403 days ago
- 2 + We aren't listing the EVB at this time, due to major changes to Pligg CMS code that require us to update it for Pligg 2. I actually attempted upgrading it a few months ago, but it still needs some work. Perhaps it will be re-listed in the Downloads section in the future, but no promises.

Question: A clear understanding of Vendor
Answer: provided by Yankidank 403 days ago
- 2 + This post stems from a private conversation that I was having with Chuckroast in an IRC chat room. I was trying to describe to him how I think that he should respect me like a boss, which I only meant in a figurative way. He blew the conversation out of proportion and I decided to leave the room to let him cool down.

I think this post is causing some confusion about the relationship between Pligg and Vendors, so I'd like to clarify the licensing and payment terms:

Licensing:

As described on the Terms and Conditions page ( http://pligg.com/account/terms/ ), we make no claim to the ownership of your items. Vendors are treated as third party developers who are listing their non-tangible items for sale on Pligg.com. You retain all copyright and ownership for the products listed in the Pligg Downloads area.

Payment:

Vendors earn a commission ranging from 60-80% of the purchase price. If you do your homework, you will see that we offer a very competitive rate when compared to other online marketplaces like Envato. We also have very flexible terms, not limiting you or punishing you for publishing your products on another site.

The percentage is meant to be a fluctuating amount. There are no exact rules in place as to what will get you up to 80%, as we are still trying to work the details out. The basic idea is that if you contribute open source code to Pligg CMS or the Pligg community (via support or free items), we will boost your commission. If you receive a lot of positive reviews for your products, we feel that is also deserving of a higher commission.

The money that Pligg LLC earns from Vendor sales goes towards hiring developers to work on Pligg CMS, server fees, licenses, professional fees, freelance services, marketing, and other resources to help Pligg CMS grow. Think of your commissions as an investment in building a better Pligg.

At this time we are only able to provide payments to Vendors via Paypal. We are hoping to set up Paypal Adaptive payments so that as purchases are made, Vendors will be paid their commission immediately for the item. Currently, due to this site being new and still in need of some testing, we are having issues with orders being marked as processed when using this method. Due to this error, payments will be manually approved as we try to resolve the issue.

Question: Anti Spam type modules running order.
Answer: provided by Yankidank 404 days ago
- 1 + In some cases, re-ordering the modules from the Installed Modules Admin page will change the order in which modules are getting called. To change the order, drag and drop the module row up or down to the new location and the new position will be saved automatically.

Not all modules are called the same way by Pligg, so this solution may have no effect on your site.

Question: Anti Spam type modules running order.
Answer: provided by Yankidank 404 days ago
- 1 + I'm not sure if Pligg 1 actually takes the module position into account when loading the modules like Pligg 2. We put a lot of work into adding a new ability to sort them so that you could better organize the display order of objects and it may be the best solution for you (unless you are against using Pligg 2 RC).

We aren't offering official support for Pligg 1.x now, but another user may be able to offer advice for your situation.

Question: RSS Importer doesn't import RSS.
Answer: provided by Yankidank 404 days ago
- 2 + Have you added and configured a feed before trying to import it?

----------

Possible troubleshooting:

The RSS Import module should have added 3 new tables to your database: pligg_feeds, pligg_feed_import_fields, and pligg_feed_link. If you use a different database prefix, then pligg_ would be replaced with that in these examples.

Open up phpmyadmin and check if these tables have been added. You should see other Pligg CMS tables like pligg_links and pligg_users in the same database. If they weren't added, then you may want to try uninstalling, then re-install the module and see if any new error messages are present in the error.log.

Question: Pligg release candidate 2.0 not working properly
Answer: provided by Yankidank 404 days ago
- 0 + From the Admin Panel, do you see the submissions on the Admin > Submissions page (/admin/admin_links.php)? They may be getting marked as discarded. If that is the case, it may be a Pligg bug since another user reported a similar problem: http://pligg.com/support/question/why-are-all-my-submitted-items-going-straight-to-the-discarded/#question

Question: Why are all my submitted items going straight to the discarded
Answer: provided by Yankidank 404 days ago
- 2 + Is this a new installation with the default settings and template, or is this an upgrade? Please provide a link to your site.

The most likely culprit is that one of your anti-spam modules or settings is working incorrectly. Try disabling all modules and re-submit a story to see if it performs the same. Don't forget to clear your template cache after doing that.

If that doesn't work, check your Admin > Settings > Submit page. If you haven't ever changed any of the settings on this page, then skip this paragraph. Otherwise, please take a screenshot of the page so that we can see what your settings are.

If this doesn't fix the problem, then you may need to check your error log (viewable from the admin panel) to see if there are any related warning messages. At this point you will probably need to submit a bug report with detailed instructions on how to reproduce the issue (ex. Register account, submit a story, story never makes it to 'new').

Question: How do I send a private message?
Answer: provided by Yankidank 404 days ago
- 2 + Currently the Simple Private Messaging module needs to be re-worked and updated for several bug fixes. We've disabled it from default installations as of a couple days ago until we have a chance to fix the module. There is a major issue with it not being able to send messages, presenting a database error message. Because of this error, I recommend disabling the module until we are able to update it.

Typically you can find a button to send a message to a user from your follower/following list. You are only able to send a message to a mutual friend (a user who is following you, and you are also following them). The user list on those pages should have a send message button.

- 0 + Thanks very much for offering to do that. We have a lot on our plate right now, so any contributions made by outside developers is very welcome.

Your developer may need to modify some of the Bootstrap template files to correct any of the display issues with the send message link. The two Bootstrap template files that reference Simple Messaging module files are /templates/bootstrap/user_navigation.tpl and /templates/bootstrap/user_follow_center.tpl. Search those files for references to "simple_messaging".

For the more important issue that causes a database error message when sending a message, that can probably be fixed by only modifying files in /modules/simple_messaging/.

If the developer has a GitHub account they should clone the latest version available from our GitHub page (https://github.com/Pligg/pligg-cms) and send a Pull Request (https://github.com/Pligg/pligg-cms/pulls) when they want to contribute the final code back into the project. We will then review and approve the code so that it goes into the next Pligg CMS release as well as our GitHub development build.
