To troubleshoot, I would try doing a fresh installation to see if the problems still occur before messing around with your settings.

- 1 + Have I previously shared with you the custom Wordpress and Pligg CMS plugins that we developed to handle logins between WP and Pligg on pligg.com? I know that I provided that code to someone a few weeks ago when chatting in the IRC chat room. Our setup has Wordpress handle all of the user account data, and Pligg CMS references it for logins.

- 1 + There were a number of (mostly technical) reasons why I chose to retire the vBulletin forum, but what I consider to be the most important reason for switching to the current /support area is so that we can showcase Pligg CMS on our website. Pligg is a versatile system that can be utilized in a variety of ways, from social networks to community support desks like /support. The demo (http://demo.pligg.com) gives users a look at what Pligg looks like out of the box, but /support represents what can be done with a little tinkering and creative thinking.

Perhaps a solution to some of the complaints would be to elect a few community moderators who would have the ability to change the status of posts. I haven't been able to moderate content much myself due to other work obligations (outside of Pligg). If anyone is interested in taking up this sort of position, please leave a reply to this comment and I'll review your posting activity to see if you would be a good fit.

If anyone has any other suggestions on how we might be able to improve the current system, I'm all ears.

- 2 + I suggest that you place code snippets on http://pastebin.com/ and then include a link to it within your comment. Similarly, you may need to depend on other third party services to host files if you are unable to attach them using the provided tools on Pligg.com.

UPDATE: I've now added a new "Help" tab to the story page, which gives users directions on how they can use the Support area. It also includes a list of suggested file/snippet hosts that can be used as alternatives.

- 1 + To import your Facebook profile image as your Pligg avatar, you will need to select the "Set Facebook Photo as Avatar" checkbox when you land on the Facebook registration page for Pligg (http://pligg.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/facebook-login-page-510x460.png). The Facebook avatar import feature only happens one time, when you first connect an account to Facebook. It does not fetch any updates beyond that, so if you change avatars on Facebook it won't update it on your Pligg website.

If you have checked that box and you still an issue with it not importing an avatar when you first connect the account, then there may be a permissions issue with writing the image file to your avatars directory. Try changing the CHMOD permissions for the /avatars directory and the directories beneath it to 777. Another possible cause could be some form of your web server not supporting standard functions or having restrictive security settings. In some cases we may be able to provide additional support to assist you. Leave a reply if the suggestions above aren't able to help you out and I will try to follow up with an email.

- 1 + I'm guessing that the story fell outside of the publish window. As I see in your screenshot, "Days to publish" is set to 10. Are you sure that the story that you were monitoring wasn't older than 10 days?

I had to manually approve this submission, since it got flagged by a spam plugin, so sorry for the delay.

Question: I purchased pro extensions - how do I get access to updates?

- 2 + We had to draw a line for supporting Pligg 1.0 era purchases, and we chose to coincide that with the launch of Pligg 2 during Spring 2013. When we launched Pligg 2, the whole pligg.com website was re-launched with a new ecommerce system, and with new and updated products.

If you purchased an item in early 2013 through the old "Pligg Pro" shop, I will be glad to provide you with a license for the same product in the new shop (if it still exists). Just send an email to eric@pligg.com with your old Pligg Pro order number, your current pligg.com associated email address, and the original order date.

If you made a purchase prior to 2013, we are not able to assist you with updating your license for free, but we may be able to give you a discount so that you can upgrade to a Pligg 2.x version of a theme or module without having to pay the full price. If you would like to look into this option, please send me an email.

Many items that we sell on pligg.com are listed at a significantly discounted rate. I try to price most items to cover the cost of development (typically about $1000 for a medium-advanced item). If I were to factor in the cost of long term support, I probably need to double the price of most items. The amount of time required to update a module to the latest version of Pligg CMS, plus to maintain functionality through constantly changing third-party API services like Facebook or Twitter, complicates things when trying to maintain a product over multiple years.

I'm sorry that some of you may object to this policy, but it's the most fair system that we could come up with.
