Pligg Support

Hello,

"Pligg requires a modern version of PHP and MySQL and some PHP functions. To test if your server is capable of running Pligg please view the Troubleshooter. If any errors appear on that page you may have a problem with either installing or running Pligg."

Why do we need this file? What is its purpose? What should be the error? And what mistakes should not? Anything is unclear. Please write in detail what actions should be done with this file?

Thanks.

Possible Answers

It will do some test such as:

    1. if your server has met Pligg's server requirements

    2. check if you have renamed certain files as stated in the README

    3. check if certain files have correct file permissions.

    1. I repeat once more - this file is incorrect. Upload it to your hosting, and verify.

    2. I'm not asking about install of the script.

Check this file from download-pack (folder - "install"), it is NOT working.

It's only reason I have asked.

What does it show when you access it?

    Well......

"If any errors appear on that page you may have a problem with either installing or running Pligg."

You are welcome to ignore running that if you wish! But I'm thinking other people (like me) appreciate that nice, helpful tool.

Wondering -- Why would anyone take exception to this??

    Especially for you:

    1. I repeat once more - this file is incorrect. Upload it to your hosting, and verify.

    2. I'm not asking about install of the script.

I've already uploaded and installed that file to all my Pligg installs and used it.

It worked as it is supposed to and alerted me to troubles on a few installs.

Including Files or Code

Sometimes it is necessary for you to attach a file or include a snippet of code for others to reference in your response. In most cases, you can .zip up files and attach them to a question or answer using Pligg's file manager. At times though this may fail, and in these circumstances we recommend using a third party host. Below we are including a list of recommended websites where you can share easily share file uploads (or snippets of code) through the web.
