Pligg Support

Hello again people.
Is there are any way to support animated GIFs (avatars) in pligg? I noticed when a user uploads an image it always changes its' format to jpg. How can i change this?

Thank you in advance

Possible Answers

    I was wrong indeed. The original image size is also uploaded but is also converted to USERID_original.jpg.

    I thought it's still in GIF because I have tried uploading and it's playing when viewed. So I think it's only the extension changed but still it animates.

    Use the code:

    {$Avatar.original}

    to show the animated GIF.

    Here's an example: http://demo.oxytheme.com/Pligg/OTnewz/3/user.php?login=Yotero

    The original animated GIF is also uploaded, thus you can also use that instead of the 100x100 JPG thumbnail.

    I believe what Oxy is inferring is to change the code in your template where each avatar shows up from the ones that pligg generates when a user uploads the image, to the original which is also placed in the same folder.

    Yes, OxyThemes, I think Pligg changes the extension but the format seems to still be the original gif format. I noticed that sometime back when building my first couple Pligg sites. And JPG isn't animated so it has to be a gif.

Including Files or Code

Sometimes it is necessary for you to attach a file or include a snippet of code for others to reference in your response. In most cases, you can .zip up files and attach them to a question or answer using Pligg's file manager. At times though this may fail, and in these circumstances we recommend using a third party host.
