How can I have the category title display as translated text?
The pligg categories table in database already contains a "lang" field, but manually entering a new record with adequate title and lang is not enough.
Since categories are only editable by admins it's fine by me to use the file-based translation mechanism too.
Is it readily possible? planned? how can I help?
The feed contained both text and images. The text imported fine. The images appear to be completely ignored.

I didn't see any options regarding the images in feeds. Please help.

Hi, thanks for Pligg. I'm looking forward to getting it fully set up.

I've installed the rss_import module on my site, and I can import stories via the admin interface. But when I try to automate the import via command line (in preparation for setting up cron job), I get an error.

In my terminal window I cd to the modules.rss_import folder, then run:

$ php import.php
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function captcha_create() in /home/me/public_html/modules/captcha/captcha_main.php on line 105

when I try to go through the web server, i.e.:

$ wget http://mysite.net/modules/rss_import/import.php
ERROR 500: Internal Server Error.

And when I look in my error log I see a message similar to the original command line error.

Any idea how to proceed?

Update: when I try to import feeds by clicking on the "Import All Feeds" link in the RSS Importer Admin panel, a few feeds import, then importing stops and I get the following in the error log:

EntityRef: expecting ';' at line 1, column 1639
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function trigger_rss_error() in /home/me/public_html/modules/rss_import/magpierss/rss_fetch.inc on line 238

Any hints?

Update 2:

I couldn't get import.php to run, so in order to get past the issue, I figured out how to use cURL to log in as admin, then call the admin feed import link for each feed individually.
Hi Chuck,
After installing and activating the auto content scraper module, my site tamilkalanchiyam.com went down showing as white screen (please refer the attached screen shot). Can you please let me know what could be the problem ?

Thanks Sakthi
The current bootstrap2 theme has some hardcoded strings that I want to translate. I therefore introduced some new tags, such as {#PLIGG_Visual_More#} in the tpl and language.conf files.

I then delete the cache... and wait for the translation to show up but my new tag does not get replaced by the string from the conf files.

How can I add a new string to be translated?

see github for an example: github.com/berteh/pligg-cms/commit/7b60e887e6bb1c70db2bf6d2ea398981f46d4b0f
The Statistics Widget was returning "UNKNOWN" for the MySql version. To fix it:
Open /widgets/statistics/templates/widget.tpl
On LINE 138, delete this bloc of code between the {php} and {/php}. It is returning an empty array:
function find_SQL_Version() {
$output = shell_exec('mysql -V');
preg_match('@[0-9]+.[0-9]+.[0-9]+@', $output, $version);
if ($version[0] != ''){
return $version[0];
}else{
return 'Unknown';
}
}
echo find_SQL_Version();

Replace it with the following block, between the {php} and {/php}
$link = mysqli_connect(localhost,EZSQL_DB_USER,EZSQL_DB_PASSWORD);
/* check connection */
if (mysqli_connect_errno()) {
printf("Connect failed: %sn", mysqli_connect_error());
exit();
}
$my_sql = mysqli_get_server_info($link);
//$my_sql returns will be something like the version and -log (5.5.24-log). we have to just grab the version number
$my_sql_version = substr($my_sql, 0, strpos($my_sql, "-"));
echo $my_sql_version;
mysqli_close($link);

I want to download the latest Simple Private Messaging module but all I get is the Login For Download button even though I am logged in. All the button does is take me to my Pligg account page.
I installed it and it was only returning empty placeholders. I noticed at the bottom of /widget.tpl the following:
ProFeed("http://www.pligg.com/pro/feed.php",$proitems);
//ProFeed("http://pligg.com/wp-content/recent-global-posts-feed.php?posttype=product",$proitems);
// Need to switch this to Feedburner after Pligg.com re-launch
//ProFeed("http://feeds.feedburner.com/PliggPro",$proitems);

So I commented the first one and uncommented the last one as it says in the comment above.

It worked, however, the images are broken in the display. The links to the thumbnails as fetched by the $rss->channel->item is a broken link:
http://pligg.com/pro/images/products/thumb_160_email_add.png

Even the links to the products are broken!
http://pligg.com/pro/index.php?l=product_detail&p=160
How can we fix this and where is the right source for the thumbnails and products?

Thank you!
The Last Logged in Users Widget is not working at all. I found and fixed the following (click the link to view the explanation):

You can get the fix from my Pligg fork at:

Has anyone able to verify your website in google webmaster tools?
I have tried
1.HTML file upload (it was there for sure since clicking on the 'confirm' returns the google site verification correctly, but after click the red verify button. Google says it can't verify)
2.HTML tag
Doesn't work.
I'm using a shared host (but my others 2 sites can verify easily)

Any clue?
