What is theBuzz.at?

theBuzz.at is a place for you to discover and share your favourite places quickly, from the hippest bars to up and coming eateries, uncover your local rising stars.

No more wading through page upon page of reviews and ratings. There is a better way. Every venue is submitted and voted on (buzzed) by people like you. A buzz means "I'd go here again". If a place gets enough buzzes then it appears on the front page.

Liberate yourself from pointless average 5-star ratings. The time for simple has come.

Fantastic design and a really unique use of Pligg. How can I get myself an invite code without having to wait? I'd like to see the interior pages, will the site allow public access to those once the site comes out of "Alpha"?

Thanks Yankidank - it's early days yet, a fair few bugs to find and fix etc but hopefully we can build it into something great. Right now, it's a soft alpha launch to flush out potential issues and build up a bit of content.

If you request an invite code now I'll approve it immediately.

Also, good suggestion re. allowing the interior pages, I was in 2 minds but I'll take down the restrictions on the venue detail pages for the time being at least. Go wild ;)

Love Pligg (we're on an older version unfortunately - we were too far down the line).

Got to thank the talented guys at Moonrank for the work they put in (they finished on this about a year ago now!). And the guys at builtbybuffalo.com for the design work.

I have 1 tiny bug and 2 suggestions for you.

Bug has location at end of profile breadcrumbs: http://i37.tinypic.com/331lwfq.png

Suggestions are to 1. Allow users to upload their own image for a location, in case the original person didn't include one. And if you choose to have a gallery of images, let users vote on the images to choose the best one. 2. Make the Popular and New In links keep you no the category you are browsing and show the category name after "Popular" and "New In". http://i34.tinypic.com/a0jk04.png

Thanks. Re the bug - thanks, I've added it to the backlog.

1) You're right, it's a feature that sorely lacking at the moment. I spent a while trying to figure out how to do this a couple of months ago... but haven't managed yet.

2) That's an interesting take and one I hadn't thought of before. The navigation certainly needs tweaking and I'll keep this suggestion in mind.

Thanks for the feedback - it's just what I'm after at this stage of the project.
